I've been finding a lot of inspiration in challenge blogs recently. It's a fun place to get ideas when your creativity is a bit stagnant. One that was new to me was from Newton's Nook Designs. Their challenge site Inky Paws has a bi-weekly challenge.
Like many challenges one of the components to play along for prizes is using their products, but what I love about this site was that they provide some free downloads in case you don't own any of their products yet...which I think is totally awesome because you can play along even if you are finding them for the first time...like me!!
I chose to print the warm and cozy wishes mittens, then added the word Birthday (the theme of this weeks challenge) with a stamp from my own collection.
I cut out the printed image with MFT's Rectangular Stitch Stax and cut a second rectangle (one size larger) out of patterned paper to act as a frame. I sponged the edge of the image using Abandoned Coral Distress Ink and a dauber.
I colored in the mittens with Copic markers and then layered it all onto a coordinating color of cardstock trimmed to show just a border of my A2 white note card. The final touch...a small heart cut out of glitter paper!
Thank You Newton's Nook for this fun down load...I appreciate your generosity💞 I hope that you will check them out and expand your craft stash with these free printables! (I'll keep you posted as I come across others)
Now my dilemma...do I send this to someone now or wait until winter? The weather has been so crazy lately that it's probably still snowing somewhere...so, I'm thinking I can still send it now😉!
Thanks for Linking to the Inky Paw's Challenge. Great card.
